We are recruiting for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher. Situated in the remote far north of South Australia - 850km from Adelaide and 680km from Alice Springs, Coober Pedy is known nationally and internationally as the "Opal Capital of the World". With a population of approximately 1,700 people, it is a tight knit community and a popular tourist hub that has recently won the SA small-town tourism award. The region boasts all the essential amenities and services and a self-sufficient township. About the Role We are seeking a passionate, experienced and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to be part of the team at Mini Gems CC, in the unique and vibrant outback town of Coober Pedy. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a close-knit community, building strong relationships, while delivering high-quality early childhood education and supporting children's learning and development. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a play-based, child-centred educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) . Including the 3-year-old preschool program Create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports each child's wellbeing and development. Build strong, respectful, and collaborative relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community. Observe, assess, and document children's learning, providing ongoing evaluation and planning. Uphold National Quality Standards (NQS) and contribute to continuous improvement within the service. Work collaboratively with educators to support program delivery and best practices in early learning. Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity, including working respectfully with First Nations children, families, and communities. Essential Qualifications / Compliance Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent). WWC Check Teachers Registration - FULL First Aid-012 Certificate CPR Food Handling Certificate RRHAN's Certificate or Child Safe Environment Certificate Strong understanding of EYLF, NQS, and early childhood pedagogical practice Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Solid written and oral skills Incentive / Benefits - Flying Start Teacher Incentives This position may be eligible for the Early Childhood Teacher Incentives payment scheme delivered through the Office of Early Childhood Development (OECD). You may qualify to apply for individual incentives, location incentives, and relocation supplement payments. The South Australian Government provides financial incentives to attract and retain Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs) in services partnered with the OECD to deliver 3-year-old preschool in South Australia. These are referred to as partnered services . There are two types of incentives available: individual and location . If you meet the eligibility criteria for both incentive types, you may receive both payments If you are approved for an incentive and relocate more than 100 kilometres from your current residence to commence the role, you may also be eligible for a relocation supplement.
